This page contains some of our more frequently asked questions. If you don't find the answer to your specific questions here, please feel free to contact us.
Where are you located?
We are located in Gig Harbor, WA. 9814 Harborview Pl, is a cul de sac in a residential neighborhood, off Ringold and Peacock Hill.
I have health insurance. Will it cover my treatment with you?
Most insurance companies cover a portion of your session costs, some more than others. If you provide us with your providers 800 number on your card, your ID #, DOB, and your name, we will check your coverage for you. We will electronically bill your insurance company once monthly for all of the sessions for that month. They will sometimes reimburse you directly, and sometimes me. If they reimburse me, your account will be credited in the amount of reimbursement.
Am I required to pay for your services at the time they are given?
Yes. Please note that we do not accept credit cards; please bring cash or check. Check with us at your first or second session for possible discounts.
How do I go about setting up the first appointment?
Call the office at 253-853-5800, or e-mail Therapy4Life@Gmail.com, leting us know what time of day or evening you are available. Our hours are 11:00 to 7:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Your first session will be approximately 90 minutes. Remember to bring your insurance card with you as well as your credit/debit card, check, or cash.
My partner and I are having problems. Should we make an appointment together or separately?
I recommend that you both come in together if your partner is willing. If not, then come in alone. If you do come in together, I will recommend an appropriate way to continue counseling.
How long does individual therapy take?
It depends on your condition, and how much effort and time you are willing to put into your healing and growth. After the 2nd or 3rd session I will have a better understanding of your emotional health, and can give you a more accurate estimate of the time necessary to complete therapy.
How long does couples’ counseling take?
Usually 12 weeks at 75 minutes per week is enough time. Occasionally, there may be interruptions, which make it a few weeks longer, and occasionally couples are able to finish in 10 or 11 sessions.
How long have you been in practice?
I have been in private practice since 1995. I started practicing in San Jose, CA, and moved to Gig Harbor in 2000.
